Kirsty and Andy’s Wedding at Moat Hall Barns

Kirsty and Andy. Kandy. And their wedding? Kandyfest. Obviously.

Kirsty and Andy got married yesterday at Moat Hall Barns - a new wedding venue in Shropshire with more awesome features than you can shake a stick at. An outdoor lakeside ceremony, camping space with bell tents, a converted barn for meals, speeches and dancing, an outdoor bar and did I mention the lake? Yes? Well good, because it heats the building, and there’s a solar farm too. So if you’re looking for a relaxed atmosphere in the Shropshire countryside for your wedding, definitely take a look at Moat Hall Barns.

Enough about the venue, let’s talk wedding.

When I got out my car at the venue yesterday, the first thing I saw was Andy looking dapper in a green wool suit with a floral tie. I mean, seriously sharp. He also had a flower crown on his head, and you might notice in the pictures that he changes into a different one part way through the day. So we know that this is a man who rocks floral ties and head gear, but what about Kirsty? Well she was up in the barn, getting her dress on when I arrived. Her friend and brother helped her into it (corsetry is a tricky beast to tame) and her dress was also covered in flowers. There were pops of colour everywhere I looked - and I was here for it!

Kirsty is all about the details, so there were loads of little visual treats all over the venue. From covering old books with new titles for the seating plan, to having their names printed on the prosecco bottles, there were delights everywhere. But it didn’t stop there - knowing that Andy would visit his late Grandpa’s grave during the morning, Kirsty had already been along and left some colourful socks for the groomsmen to wear, bearing said Grandad’s favourite tv quote.

Honestly, I thought that would have been the peak of it, so imagine my surprise when I stepped outside after the first dance to find Kirsty stood on a picnic table, having her floor length dress chopped with scissors into something more dancefloor friendly! Anyway, that’s enough wittering…
