Charlie and Jack got married yesterday at the Yoghurt Rooms, and it’s up there as one of the most bonkers, joyful and perfectly constructed chaotic weddings I’ve ever photographed. Not a fan of traditional wedding stuff, Charlie and Jack opted to make the day completely their own. Aside from their ceremony (which was outdoors, so already bucking tradition there), the day included two ongoing games - one with cards and one with pegs. Everyone had a card, and everyone had a peg. Cards was essentially an all day long drinking game (someone whips out their card, the last person to procure theirs drinks - and you can attempt to destroy the cards of others) and pegs was, well, pegs, as you’ll see from the photos. At one point, I am told, I had four pegs on my back.

This kind of sums up the atmosphere of the day. Do what you like. Have fun doing it. Eat pizza. Hey presto! There were some elements of wedding things: a beautiful Charlie Brear wedding dress; incredible speeches; cake (but without the cake cutting). The non-traditional elements involved: writing letters to each other instead of personalising their vows; meeting each other before their wedding ceremony; having a pizza buffet instead of a three course meal; playing MarioKart instead of having a first dance, followed by a Nerf gun fight on the dance floor which then descended into all out chaos and even a bit of karaoke.

I don’t think I’ve ever taken so many photos on a wedding day, but there was just always something brilliant happening.
