Becca + Dan’s Wedding at Holmes Mill, Clitheroe (with Taylor Swift)

Becca and Dan have been the dark horses on my 2024 calendar. Before every wedding, I send the couple a questionnaire to capture loads of info about their celebration, and so that I can plan my time properly. I saw that their first dance song was Invisible String, by Taylor Swift, and I’d seen from following Becca on Instagram that she’d been to the Eras Tour. I thought I got it.

Oh my.

It was way more than a track off of Folklore and a casual appreciation. It was everywhere. The seating plan, the mirrorballs, the mirrorballs on socks, Becca’s sister’s speech, the TS jibbitz on Becca’s crocs... And everywhere was Dan’s calm acceptance, and this couple’s absolute head over heels love for one another.

This was my first time shooting at Holmes Mill, and woah. What a venue! The ceremony room is absolutely gorgeous - if you’re looking for a wedding venue up north and you like industrial heritage-y stuff, it’s worth a visit. My favourite part was that while the room was being turned around from wedding breakfast to dance party, there was a small bowling alley where everyone hung out for a bit. Usually that part of the day can feel a bit weird and directionless, but this way kept everyone busy - and happy!
