Linsey + Sam’s wedding at Samuel Worth Chapel

Pubs, Pints + Indie Discos

If I say the words ‘DIY wedding’, what do you think of? A marquee in a field filled with home made touches? A homemade wedding cake? A homemade dress? What about a DIY wedding that included none of those things, but plenty of other homespun touches. That’s exactly what Linsey and Sam pulled off yesterday at their wedding at the Samuel Worth Chapel in Sheffield.

Samuel Worth Chapel is a small venue in a graveyard, and in a rainy English July the graveyard becomes an overgrown, beautiful, gothic jungle. It’s bloody marvellous - I’ve literally never seen another venue like it. Sam and Linsey did the official marriage stuff weeks ago, so yesterday was about making a public declaration of their commitment, and celebrating with a right old knees up. Linsey’s brother in law performed a short but sweet ceremony, during which they promised to always prioritise pubs, pints and indie discos in their life together. Their dog, who they affectionately nicknamed Goosey (yes, it was confusing), joined them for a brief period in the afternoon, and for a brief moment, the clouds parted.

There was a marquee literally bursting with booze.

There were cocktails.

And there was indeed an indie disco.
