Asylum Chapel + Le Gothique Wedding >> Tish + Fin
Tish and Fin met when Tish started working as a receptionist at a swimming pool 12 years ago. In her words, Fin was ‘the fit lifeguard’ and that’s that. These two have gone together ever since. I can’t think of a better person for either of them. They’re like peanut butter and jelly, like David Rose and Patrick Brewer, Frodo and Sam, they are each other’s perfect person.
They finally got married two days ago in a beautiful, intimate ceremony at the Asylum Chapel in Peckham and celebrated with a lot of shots at Le Gothique in Wandsworth.
Your perfect wedding is worth waiting for
Tish and Fin are one of the many, many couples who had to postpone their wedding due to Covid. I first met them for their preshoot in Battersea Park in February 2020, about a month before the world went tits up. Since then they’ve had to adapt and amend their wedding plans so many times. I believe Le Gothique was their third venue, and third date. But third time’s a charm, right? They were able to have 45 guests for the day time, and more friends arrived for the evening do.
I started with Tish at the Half Moon Pub in Brixton while Fin got ready with the lads at their home in Tooting, then we raced (literally) to the Asylum for the ceremony. I loved how personal they’d made this part of their wedding. Over the last year wedding ceremonies have suffered greatly from occasionally arse backwards restrictions, but they struck gold. Tish’s sister Jemini acted as co-celebrant and performed half the ceremony, even managing to sneak in a wee Friends reference (having, taking, giving, sharing anyone?).
Tish and Fin then raced off to Le Gothique in a cherry red vintage Mustang, while we climbed aboard the “party bus”. A matching red old London routemaster, with an incredibly patient driver. And the speeches! My god. They were the perfect blend of emotional, humorous and kind. The shots were poured, donuts made, saxophones played and champagne poured into a fountain instead of having a cake cut.
