Carmen and Andy have been together for a long time. Almost a decade! They’ve lived in a few different parts of the UK, supporting each other’s careers and sticking together. They tied the knot over the August bank holiday weekend at the Old Palace, in Chester, in an intimate ceremony with their nearest and dearest.

That’s the great thing about the Old Palace. You can have a small number of guests during the day for your ceremony (they had about 60), and it feels just right. It’s a big space but with so many smaller rooms that you never feel like dwarfed by the size or bursting at the seams. So later on, when dozens of friends arrived for the evening celebrations, it just felt right. It was particularly good to have more folks pulling shapes on the dancefloor, especially when the glowsticks came out. Carmen’s dad was a big fan of those!

My personal highlight of the day was taking Carmen and Andy over to the Grosvenor Bridge over the Dee. It was so good to get out in the fresh air and give C+A some time alone to just breathe and relax a little, before going back to lots of socialising and drinks!
