If you’re planning a wedding at The Mowbray in Sheffield, you should definitely check this one out for inspiration!

It’s full to the brim with moody portraits, love and laughter, and gorgeous jewel colours that work so well in darker venues.

Rebecca and Adem got married at Abbeydale Picture House, which is an old, mostly dilapidated and absolutely gorgeous cinema in Sheffield with the most stunning shafts of light for portraits - and one of the best venue teams in England.

I arrived to find Rebecca at home with her mum and bridesmaids, having the finishing touches of her makeup done. So many parts of the day had a DIY element to them - they used their own car, a vintage purple mini, and Rebecca dried all the flower petals for the confetti herself. She and Adem decorated the Picture House in flowers picked from her grandmother’s garden, and they even included their super cute three legged rescue French bulldog in the ceremony.

The ceremony was an intimate affair held in front of the screen while their friends and family sat in the original cinema seats., and the reception took place at the Mowbray in Kelham Island. During the ceremony they read their own vows. It was a real tear-jerker.

Abbeydale Picture House is one of the coolest places to have a wedding in Sheffield – it has a really laid-back vibe, and offers an amazing atmosphere. There are so many beautiful spots that are perfect for photo ops. Weddings at Abbeydale Picture House are amazing, because the building is so unusual.

Rebecca’s flowers were put together by Swallows and Damsons. Her dress is from Nora Eve Bridal in Chesterfield, and her awesome make up was done by the ever so talented Craft Makeup.
