Stock Farm Wedding

Emma + Steve

A wedding at Stock Farm in Cheshire

Emma and Steve are just lovely. We first met in Castleton in October for a walk around the foot of Mam Tor for their pre-wedding photoshoot. I found their impeccable taste in clothes (both in Dr Martens), choice of setting and desire to inject a bit of Wes Anderson all equally awesome. I think it's fair to say that we clicked! When I arrived at their wedding venue to find the words of John Cooper Clarke's I Wanna Be Yours written out for all to see, and all over their table names too, I knew I'd found a very special couple.

Stock Farm is part of the Tatton Estate in Cheshire. Getting there involes a drive through woodlands, fields and working farms, and finding this hidden gem tucked away behind a gorgeous cottage. It's the perfect barn wedding venue - exclusive, with use of the house and grounds for the whole weekend! It feels off the beaten track but it's easy to get to.

Emma and Steve got ready in separate parts of the house, being careful to not cross paths and accidentally see each other. When me and my second shooter, Jenny, arrived, the boys were pretty much suited and booted and ready to tuck into a bottle of whisky (Lagavulin, for the Parks and Rec fans). Emma was upstairs with her two bridesmaids, getting their hair and makeup done.

They got married on site, the barn decorated in a perfect combo of industrial edison bulbs and dried grasses and flowers. We found a brief dry moment to grab some photos of the two of them away from their guests before they sat down to share tapas with their guests, and the party got into full swing with a ceilidh.

For this wedding I also shot a video alongside their photographs, which you can watch below before seeing some of their photos.
