Laura and Rob had a wedding day that fused tradition with doing what worked for them. From our first meeting together it was clear that they were looking for something different from their wedding - to celebrate with their family and friends in a relaxed way, in a pub garden, with little thought to doing things because β€˜that’s how it’s always been done.’ So on a sunny Saturday in August, they tied the knot in the garden at The Black Friar in Salford, had lots of games for their guests to play, lots of bubbles from nieces and nephews instead of confetti, short but sweet speeches, and only a few group photos. Like so many couples I meet with, they didn’t want their day to be dominated by photos, so a relaxed, candid approach was the most appropriate choice for them.

As always, most of the photos here are completely unposed, natural moments. The only ones that aren’t are from a short couple shoot we did at the Kimpton Clocktower Hotel in Manchester before Laura and Rob headed to The Black Friar.
