Becca and Joe’s Autumn Wedding at Iard Hendre, North Wales

If there was a prize for surprises at weddings, Becca and Joe would win hands down. Their wedding at Iard Hendre in North Wales featured not one, but two big surprises for their guests, and they were delivered in quick fire succession.

Unbeknownst to all their guests, including Joe’s parents, the couple got legally married in Las Vegas a few months previously. Everything up until this reveal had been fairly normal. Becca got ready with her sister, grandmother and a couple of close friends at an Air BnB round the corner from Iard Hendre. Joe got ready with his dad, brother and friends down the road. They met in a beautiful humanist ceremony held by The Snowdonia Celebrant. There were group photos and dog photos and the booze began to flow.

It was gorgeous. It followed the same pattern as many weddings. Then it was time for speeches - first Becca’s grandmother, then Joe’s best man, then Joe. And they dropped their bombshell! News of their fun-packed elopement to the States was met with open mouths, laughter, gasps. As the reality of what had happened set in, a many with a tray walked in and proceeded to fall over….only to reveal himself as a singing waiter!
