Lucy and Nicola’s Wedding At Oddfellows in Stockport

In a little home in Stockport, on a perfectly ordinary street, is a house filled with love. Two mums live with their two daughters, and now they’ve tied the knot. Lucy and Nic have been together for years, and it shows. They’ve travelled together, grown together and made a whole life together. Two, really.

So it was on a bit of a grey day in November, the kind of day that makes you put your collar up around your ears for warmth, they headed to Oddfellows on the Park in Stockport, to do all the legal bit. I was nervous - I always am - because this was a couple who’d seen my work for years. Lucy’s sister was a bridesmaid at another wedding I photographed in Manchester in gaps between pandemic restrictions. I love it when people tell their friends and family about my work, but my goodness - the pressure!

Nic got ready at her mum and dad’s house with her eldest daughter in tow, while Lucy stayed at home with the baby. They both walked down the aisle with their parents, and daughter Hattie delivered the rings in what might just be my favourite ever ring delivery photo. Speeches came from the best woman and two bridesmaids, and they finished off the evening with a flashmob style dance to Proud Mary.

Caroline was brilliant from start to finish! As people who don’t really like having their picture taken she put us at ease instantly.
In the run up to the wedding she was there to ask/answer any questions. On the day she was amazing, the pictures we got capture the day perfectly! We don’t even know how she got some of them as she was so stealthy and ninja-like!
You put a lot of trust in your photographer to get every moment and Caroline certainly did this for us! Photos that are already up in our house and that we will treasure forever! Thank you!
