Savoy Cinema Wedding at Heaton Moor, Manchester

A little intro
Molly and Aidan tied the knot at the Savoy Cinema in Heaton Moor, just outside of Manchester and Stockport in April 2025. If you’re looking for inspiration for an alternative wedding that’s all about making unique choices, this has to be seen. From the choice of venue, to Molly’s decision to wear trousers instead of a traditional wedding dress, street food catering and a very DIY approach to creating the look they’d been imagining, it’s safe to say that not too much attention was paid to tradition.

Molly got ready at The Alan hotel in Manchester city centre, and I joined her and her bridesmaids for the last part of the process. From a wedding photographer’s perspective, this is always something I’d recommend because I get to meet some people who are super important to the couple and break the ice with them before the ceremony, but there’s no pressure to feel like you’re being photographed before the hair and make up has been done.

It was such a beautiful spring day in Heaton Moor, so throughout the day guests hung out with food and drinks outside, which felt lovely and relaxed. It made the confetti throw extra special as no one was getting cold or dodging the rain! Speaking of confetti, check out the recycled movie stubs provided by The Savoy. So cool! The movie theme continued inside, with quotes from Molly and Aidan’s favourite films scattered about in vases of flowers.

I won’t witter on anymore, just scroll down to see more of their wedding photos!
