 from the heart

This is wedding photography for people who don’t want their day to be about the photos

but the photos to be about their day.

hybrid wedding photography

Hybrid def. noun - a thing made by combining two different elements.

I love photography. And I love making videos. So why not combine the two? Over the past 6 years I’ve honed my approach to how I tell wedding day stories, making sure that nothing is missed, giving a visual storybook overview of your day.

Relax.

Nearly every couple I work with tells me they’re nervous in front of the camera. I can really empathise. It’s not just common to feel awkward in front of the camera - it’s totally normal.I’m here to say it’s all fine, better than fine, in fact.

There is an alternative way to photograph your wedding. Let me explain.

I’m not the kind of photographer who’ll make you spend your wedding day posing for hours, faking emotions or lining up everyone you’ve ever met for group photos. I think couple and group photos are important if they’re important to you, but as a documentary style photographer, my focus is on the whole day.

I photograph weddings in the moment, without direction or repetition, and as little intrusion from me as possible. I draw the line at hiding in the bushes like a weirdo, but I’m there to capture the look and feel of it, not turn it into a photoshoot.

You create it | I capture it.

UK Wide wedding photography

Finding the right photographer for your wedding isn’t an easy task. While some prefer to stay with a local choice, others might decide that there’s noone nearby who shoots weddings in quite the right way.

One of the highlights of working as a wedding photographer is meeting all kinds of people, from all kinds of places. It’s never the same workday twice, and it’s often a really quirky venue. These are the things that I love - capturing people in the places they’ve chosen, whether that’s a forest in the Peak District, or a barn in Mid Wales.

I live in Chester, but by no means do I stick my immediate vicinity. I’ve shoot regularly in Manchester, Derbyshire, Cheshire and Wales, and I’ve been lucky to travel to Kent, East Sussex, and Northumberland among others.

Ellie and Matt

"Having Caroline there just felt like an extension of our friends and family, it warms my heart just thinking about it now. We cant stop looking at the amazing photos Caroline captured, they are absolutely everything and more. Apart from Matt and I picking each other, choosing Caroline to capture our day was one of the best decisions we made."
