It goes by many names - it’s the bit before the ceremony
Sometimes 2-3 hours in a hotel room, bridal suite or dressing room. Sometimes 15 minutes by a window while the finishing touches are placed just so. This is how I photograph the wedding morning, or a section of time before the ceremony.
Let’s start as we mean to go on
When I arrive on a wedding morning I try to just bring one camera and one lens in, so that I take up as little space possible. I’ll say hi to everyone there and then I’ll just start taking photos of what I see. This is a great time for me to photograph any details that are precious to you, but my main focus is the people, the feelings, the vibes of what’s going on around me.
